LEESBURG — Bryan Whitacre pitched six shutout innings as James Wood defeated Loudoun County in a Conference 21 game Tuesday.

Whitacre (1-0) allowed three hits and four walks and struck out six for the Colonels (2-1, 1-0 Conference 21). Kris Malsch earned the save for James Wood.

The Colonels, who scored one run in the sixth and two in the seventh, also had Cohen Kerns go 2-2 with a walk and an RBI, and Eli Warren hit an RBI single.
